Writing your own bridal story
Shubhika Sharma, the founder of the fashion label, Papa don’t preach, got married to Harshil Karia, it was a celebration of the brand’s ethos. Carefully curated and aesthetically executed, Subhika’s attires were all about her personal narrative.
For the sangeet, which was spiritual with bhajan chanting, Shubhika wore a lavender lehenga with applique work. Butterflies, florals and hearts dominated the outfit in multiple shades, purple, gold, pink and green. The outfit was accentuated with pearl tassels and acrylic details. She accessorized with an emerald and polki necklace from her own collection.

For the wedding, Shubhika decided on a rare sandstone orange, a warm and luminous tone. She added blush pink, apricot and seafoam shades in embroidery, enhanced with glass beads, crystals and metal accents. She carried two dupattas, one in sandstone orange tissue, and the second in blush pink organza. Her personalised kaleeras had the names of the bride and the groom in them, making them deeply meaningful.

For the post-wedding reception, Shubhika wore a deep red georgette pre-draped saree with a statement blouse. The highlight of the dress was a veil which made a witty reference to her brand, “But Papa, I love him.”

For another post event function, Shubhika wore a lehenga she had designed for the haldi. Beautifully embroidered in yellow, it was a modern take on the traditional.
