From Patient to Partner — The Story of Akash & Megha

The beauty of life lies in its unpredictable gifts.

For Canada-based engineer Akash Krishna and Kerala-based doctor Dr Megha Murukan, destiny unfolded through a series of small, precious moments that brought them together in the most unexpected way.

When Akash came home to Kerala for a short holiday, fate had something beautiful in store. During a visit to a temple in Varkala, where his family prayed for blessings and guidance in marriage, he received a call from Megha’s mother. Their families had discovered each other’s profiles on m4marry, and after connecting, felt the match could be just right. Megha was then practising at a hospital in Kollam, not far from where Akash and his mother were staying -so why not meet in person?

Meanwhile, Megha was caught up in a busy day at the hospital. Her mother had mentioned a proposal, but she hadn’t yet checked the profile — or even seen his photograph. So when Akash walked into her hospital, she didn’t realise that this meeting would change her life forever.

Akash, feeling slightly unwell, became her patient for the day. Megha examined him and prescribed an injection and some antibiotics. That’s when Akash smiled and admitted softly,

“I’m not really a patient... I came here to meet you. Could you please remove your mask”

Surprised and amused, Megha took a short break to chat. That smile - warm and unexpected – lingered in Akash’s heart. He left the hospital certain that he had met someone special.

However, Megha’s family initially hoped she would marry someone from her own profession. But Akash was sure she was “the one.” On Women’s Day, he sent her a thoughtful card and gifts — all the way from Canada. That gesture, filled with sincerity, touched Megha deeply.

As days turned into weeks, their conversations grew longer and warmer. Despite time zones and busy schedules, they found joy in the little things — messages, late-night chats, and shared laughter. Megha also formed a close bond with Akash’s mother, who had liked her from the very beginning. For Akash, it was rare and wonderful to find someone who connected not just with him, but with his family too.

Their story culminated in a week-long celebration of love — a fairy-tale wedding filled with colour, laughter, and music. From the Haldi, Sangeet, and Mailanji, to the grand Wedding and Reception, every moment reflected their shared joy. Both families planned the festivities together, adding to the spirit of togetherness that defined their journey.

The most unforgettable moment for both Akash and Megha was the Thaalikettu— that sacred instant, surrounded by the sound of nadaswaram, a shower of flowers, and the blessings of their families.

Today, as they begin their new chapter together, Akash and Megha believe that their presence on m4marry was nothing short of destiny.
Two hearts, one serendipitous meeting — and a love story that began with a doctor’s consultation, only to turn into a lifelong prescription for happiness.
